Research: Towards Decolonized and Transformative Educational Practices: Insights from Refugee Family Narratives of Their Exilic Journeys (2024–present).
Supervisor: Professor Sreemali Herath.
The research is supported by the SSHRC Insight Development Grant and the University of Manitoba’s URGP. This project employs narrative and arts-based methods to work with multigenerational refugee families, aiming to understand their journeys to Canada. It involves collecting personal stories, family artifacts, and analyzing historical fiction written by Canadian refugee authors. My role includes interpreting between English and Arabic, identifying age-appropriate fiction books that center on refugee journeys, written by Canadian refugee authors; analyzing data and adding subtitles to recorded video interviews with participants.

A review of the literature and the curriculum from kindergarten to grade twelve across Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, and Alberta to identify opportunities for incorporating breastfeeding education into the Canadian curriculum.
